Decided to combine two ideas I had for an Easter picture into one. Though it's fun to get candy and do other Easter traditions, let's not forget the real reason for the season. We celebrate Easter because of the Resurrection. While Jesus was on the earth, he did many miracles. He healed the lame and sick, opened the eyes of the blind, helped sinners turn from their sin, and many more. Then, the time came for him to be crucified on the cross. Before the Crucifixion, when people sinned, they would give blood sacrifices using animals. God would take the sacrifices, and the people would have their sins forgiven. Jesus's ultimate sacrifice was meant to be the final blood sacrifice, so that all sins would be forgiven. His sacrifice made it so that we no longer have to give blood sacrifices. Now, we can be baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, and repent when we sin. After he was crucified, he came back to life three days later, to remind us that God is still in power, and that life and death is in His hands. To learn more about the Crucifixion and the Resurrection, read the books found in the New Testament, particularly Luke 22-24.
